MULTICULTURAL DAY DESIGNS ON DISPLAY

FEBRUARY IS BLACK HISTORY MONTH!

Please visit the west side of the Library's display case (right inside the front doors) to view a display of books celebrating Black History Month.

Black History Month was originally founded as Negro History Week in 1926.  The second week of February was chosen as it included the birthdays of both Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass.  February was designated as Black History Month in 1976.

This is only a small subset of the Library's resources related to the history of various ethnic groups in the United States.  Check the Library's catalogs or our many subscription databases.  If you need assistance, please talk to a Reference Librarian.
