November is Native American Heritage Month, celebrating the contributions, achievements, sacrifices, and the cultural and historical legacy of the original inhabitants of the United States.

Check out the west side of the display case just inside the doors of Library Learning Resources.  You'll find an exhibit of some of the books and DVD's held by the Library in subject areas related to Native Americans.  There are also maps showing California tribal groups and languages.

HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH DISPLAY

Every year during the period September 15th - October 15th, the country celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month honoring the culture, heritage, and history of Spain, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.

The four-week period includes the independence anniversaries of Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and Nicaragua.  Columbus Day, or Dia de la Raza, also falls within this period.

The west side of the display case (just inside the front doors of LLR) features books from the Library's collection that cover many aspects of Hispanic culture.

(The east side of the display case continues a display on Student Services at Moorpark College.)
