HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH DISPLAY IN LLR

Each year during the period September 15th - October 15th, the country celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month.  We celebrate the culture, history, and heritage of Spain, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.

This four-week period includes the independence anniversaries of Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and Nicaragua.  Columbus Day, or Dia de la Raza, often falls within this period as well.  (This year it's on October 10th.)

The west side of the display case just inside the doors of Library Learning Resources (LLR) features books from the Library's collection covering a number of aspects of Hispanic culture.  Many more books, DVD's, CD's, and other material are available in the Library's physical and electronic collections.  You can access the Library's catalog and eResources at www.moorparkcollege.edu/library.

CONSTITUTION DAY, SEPTEMBER 17TH

Saturday, September 17th, marks the 229th anniversary of the United States Constitution.  You'll find a Constitution Day display on the east side of the display case located just inside the Library Learning Resources (LLR) building's doors.  Books and DVD's from the Library's collection, as well as facts about the Constitution, are on display.

Be sure to visit Moorpark College's celebration of Constitution Day on Thursday, September 15th, from 11am to 1pm in the Campus Quad......"Free Speech, Free Information, Free Ice Cream."
